Account Executive, Yelp

April 2017-April 2017

In the world of sales, I learned that things move quickly, that communication has an importance that knows no bounds and that scheduling can be everything. In the account executive position, I was managing multiple accounts of local businesses, learning the ins and outs of their field and trying to find the perfect way to help them succeed. Unfortunately, sales was too high pressure of an environment for me so I resigned.

Office Manager, Salitsky Alloys
December 2016-May 2016

When my father got sick, I realized that I needed to step up and be there for my family. So, I took on the role of Office Manager at our small scrap metal company where I elcomed and greeted guests, directing them appropriately. I was responsible for maintaining a safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. I answered, screened and forwarded any incoming phone calls, as well as receiving and sorting daily mail/packages.

Human Resources Intern, Warner Music Group

February 2015 - May 2015

As an intern in HR, my responsibilities were to find, interview and onboard interns for the upcoming summer semester. I was given the Nashville market and worked with a fellow intern to work with a database full of candidates and narrow down the correct candidates for the various open positions. The responsibilities included screening candidates as well as building relationships with executives to find the appropriate intern for them.

Digital Marketing/A&R Intern, Photo Finish Records

January 2014 - May 2014

q

Photo Finish Records is a much smaller company than Warner Music Group, which meant that I was given tasks from various departments and had multitask, as well as work under a time crunch. Part of my duties included using Facebook Analytics, Youtube and Twitter to see how social media reacted to the marketing strategies of Photo Finish's roster, and to brainstorm creative campaigns for artists on the roster. I personally spearheaded campaigns for Misterwives and The Mowglis. I also actively sought out new talent, using blogs, and music discovery hubs. I presented unsigned talent such as Oh Honey (Brooklyn) and Wet (Brooklyn) to the A&R Manager.

Sales/Label Development Intern, Alternative Distribution Alliance/Warner Music Group

January 2013 - May 2013

q

I worked closely with the two departments, utilizing Nielson Soundscan to track sales of ADA's roster, which encompasses various labels in all genres. I updated the national tour grid for all company emails and organized all promotional materials. I also gathered important news stories regarding ADA or its artists/labels to be sent out among the company via a Daily News email.

Publicity Intern, Independent Label Group/Warner Music Group

August 2012 - May 2013

q

I was mentored by the Senior Director of Publicity (who is now the Director of Publicity for Warner Brothers Records) handling any mailings and sending out promotional materials, building and maintaining relationship with national press and organizing national marketing campaigns for Johnny Marr's (the Smiths) first solo record. I wrote pitches and press releases for the label's roster, including Johnny Marr, KYNG, and Future of the Left. Iaintained press contacts, database and clippings about ILG's artists. I compiled a list of press outlets, recording tour press, and initiated a campaign to reach out to college newspapers in addition to national newspapers.

During my studies at Eugene Lang, I built a major, combining my interests in Music and Feminism and took advantage of opportunities, studying Music History, including classes on the History of Hip Hop, Global Perspectives on Music and Music in the Media Business but also Sociology including classes in American Youth Culture and Consumer Culture. My classes in Gender Studies included Sexual Revolution and the Public Sphere, Foundations of Gender Studies and Symbolic Struggles: Culture Conflict and Consensus in the United States. The New School offered so many ways to learn not just about my major but to dabble in outside interests.

Columbia College Chicago, Chicago, IL
Arts and Entertainment: Music Business

2009 - 2011

When I graduated high school, I decided that I needed to explore a different region of the United States. I chose Columbia College Chicago because of the school's Music Business and Entertainment Industry focus. In my time at Columbia, I studied the Art and Business of Recording, Marketing and Management in the Music Industry, Popular Contemporary Music and Managerial Economics. I also established my interest in Gender Studies with classes such as Biology of Human Reproduction and Women in Arts, Literature and Music.
