For my first playlist on the site, I wanted to explore the female artists (bands with female musicians, female singers, etc.) that I'm constantly listening to lately. I like to try and find artists that aren't necessarily popular and offer them a new audience. My friends are always asking me who is the next artist that is going to break and here are some of my favorite ladies that I really think could be the next big thing.

My friend, Sara, asked me to curate her wedding. I assumed that it was the DJ's job to select the music, but the task was offered to me. I'd never turn down helping a friend, especially when it came to music. I chose songs that I thought fit the couple but also wouldn't be heard at every wedding. I was honored to have this opportunity and I really cannot wait for them to tie the knot!

I love music festivals. I think it is the punk kid in me after years of Warped Tour. New York is a magical place for many reasons but my two favorite are New Music Seminar, which is in June, and the College Music Marathon or CMJ (College Media Journalism) Music Marathon. I love attending because it is a week of showcasing artists from all over the world. Being a marathon, I was going to shows from 12pm to 3am, with very little sleep. Still, I saw so much AMAZING talent and this playlist is just a selection of it. And, as always, a lot of my support goes to lady musicians.
